ஓசை சுற்றுச்சூழல் அமைப்பின் மாதாந்திரக் கூட்டம் 'சூழல் சந்திப்பு' 27.01.2013 அன்று மாலை 5:30 மணியளவில் கோவை காந்திபுரம் தமிழ்நாடு உணவக அரங்கில் நடைடிபற்றது.

'மனித-யானை மோதல் உண்மை நிலையம் தீர்வும்' என்ற தலைப்பில் திரு.கோ. சிவசுப்பிரமணியன், உதவி மேலாளர், மேற்குத் தொடர்ச்சி மலைத் திட்டம், உலக இயற்கை நிதியம் (WWF -India)அவர்கள் உரையாற்றினர்.

வனவிலங்குகள் பாதுகாப்பு - ஒரு கால்நடை மருத்துவரின் அனுபவங்கள் குறித்து மருத்துவர். செ. சண்முகசுந்தரம், மண்டல இணை இயக்குனர் (ஓய்வு), கால்நடை பராமரிப்புத் துறை & முன்னாள் வனத்துறை கால்நடை மருத்துவ அலுவலர் தமிழ்நாடு வனத்துறை அவர்கள் சிறப்புரையாற்றினார்.திரு.செல்வ குமார் அவர்கள் தலைமை வகித்தார்.

வனத்துறையில் கால்நடை மருத்துவராக பணிபுரிந்து ஓய்வு பெற்ற மருத்துவர்.சண்முகசுந்தரம் அவர்கள் யானைகளை கையாளும் விதம், யானைகளின் தனித்தன்மை மற்றும் பயன்கள் ஆகியவை பற்றிய பயனுள்ள தகவல்களை நம்மிடம் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டார்.அவர் பேசியதாவது, தமிழ் மொழியும் யானையும் ஓர் விதத்தில் ஆச்சரியம் தரக்கூடியது.தமிழ் மொழி புறத்திலே பொலிவும்,அகத்திலே நுணுக்கங்களும் உடையது. அதுபோல்தான் யானையும், புறத் தோற்றத்தினால் ஆச்சரியத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும் யானை அகத்திலே பல நுட்பங்களை உடையது.

லட்சக்கணக்கான ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு தோன்றி இன்று வரையிலும் நம்மிடையே வாழ்ந்து வரும் யானை எப்பொழுதும் நம்மிடையே பிரம்மாண்டத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது.

This month Enviro Meet was held on 25th November, 2012 at Hotel Tamil Nadu, Gandhipuram, Coimbatore. Special address given by Dr. N.Kandasamy, Professor of Animal Genetics(Retd.) on 'Domestic Animal Diversity of Tamil Nadu'. Mr.S. Ilavarasu, District President of Tamilnadu Rural Development Official's Association presided over the programme.

Mr. Kandasamy defined that India is one of the mega biodiversity regions for wild animal and plant genetic resources. What is not widely known is that the country is also one of the animal genetic diversity zones in terms of domestic animals.

சூழலியலில் ஊர்வனவற்றின் பங்கு குறித்து அரசு கலைக்கல்லூரி வன உயிரின உயிரியல் துறை உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் முனைவர் முனைவர்.பெ.கண்ணன் அவர்கள் சிறப்புரையாற்றினார். திரு.ராஜேந்திரன் அவர்கள் தலைமை வகித்தார்.

'Coimbatore Ecology - Past & Present'

The Southwest monsoon failing in the year 2012 for Tamilnadu, awareness on Conservation of Western Ghats being the need of the hour, OSAI organised its 9th annual photographic exhibition 'UYIR NIZHAL 2012' on the fauna and flora of the Western Ghats in Tamilnadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore from October 5th to 14th, 2012 as part of World Wildlife Week Celebration.

A cycle rally was held on October 2nd, 2012 on behalf of UYIR NIZHAL 2012 and also to spread and motivate cycling among the residents of Coimbatore.

The event was inaugurated by Mr.V.Thirunavukkarasu, IFS., District Forest Officer, Coimbatore Forest Division. Mr.K.Ramasamy, Vice Chancellor, Tamilnadu Agricultural University presided over the function. Dr. A.J.T.Johnsingh, Dean (Retd.), Wildlife Institute of India delivered the keynote address. Dr.V.T.Kandasamy,IFS., Conservator of Forests, Coimbatore Circle and Mr.G.Ravichandran, Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis felicitated the event. Nr.Avainayagan, Secretary-OSAI gave the welcome address; Mr.K.Kalidasan, President-OSAI gave the introduction about the event. Mr.A.Tamilmarai, Coordinator-OSAI gave the vote of thanks.
