| Coimbatore city is dependent to a large extent on the resources of the Western Ghats. The city depends on the Western Ghats for its tasty water, fresh air and cool climate. Even though the Western Ghats is one among the few ecological hot spots of the world, many people are not aware of the biological value of the mountains. To create awareness on the importance of this vast natural resource, from 2001, OSAI has been organising mega Photographic Exhibitions on Wildlife and Nature during the World Wildlife Week. An average of 25,000 people have visited in each year. The interactions and suggestions from the visitors were very encouraging which reflects the success of the programme. | |
