... and wished YOU could do something to create awareness about the bounties of nature.

Western Ghats is the lifeline of South India where all our rivers originate. These hill chains are one of the mega biodiversity hotspots in the world. The proximity of Coimbatore city to the Western Ghats makes us to relish the tasty water, fresh air and the cool climate. This ecological treasure trove should be preserved for our posterity. It is our firm belief that any nature conservation effort, without the involvement of the local people would not bear the desired results. Our most important objective is to sensitize and impart environmental awareness among the people about the importance of our flora and fauna. We also believe that students with proper environmental awareness can be the best custodians of our environment. So we, at OSAI, lay a great emphasis on environmental education and nurturing the young minds.

Every year in Coimbatore, as a part of wildlife week celebration, OSAI is organizing "Uyir Nizhal", the photographic exhibition on wildlife and nature. Since 2002, six photographic exhibitions have been completed successfully.

The photographs portray the visual beauty of nature which generates a passion to conserve our environment. This event brings together individuals, government departments, scientific community and policy makers. More than 25,000 people from all walks of life have benefited by this exhibition.
