On Saturday, Feb 12, 2011 Mr. Kalidasan got a call from Senthil (Councillor) saying that a snake was found near ITI Nagar behind Cheran Nagar in Kavundampalayam.

Nirmal doing his M.Sc in Software and Keerthi, studying B.Sc Agriculture, who have rich experience in catching snakes, managed to catch the snake and found it to be a Russell's viper measuring three feet coming under Schedule II of the Wild Life Protection Act.

The snake was taken in a gunny bag and released at Mangarai by K. Kalidasan, Uganathan and Sakthirajan.

In the afternoon, the OSAI got a call saying that a cobra was sighted at LGB Nagar in Saravanampatty.

Nirmal along with a team visited the place and caught it. Later, it too was released at Mangarai by Sashee kumar and Mahesh Prasanna.
